In a significant push to the Home language Learning initiative launched by Lancers International School for the benefit of its students who come from 46 diverse nationalities, the parents from the Japanese expat community on Wednesday came together to deliver a session on basic cultural aspects of Japan.
The students from across nationalities including Japan and Korea actively participated in the session where they could learn about Japanese customs, geography, attires, calligraphy (Kanji), media, food etc.
The Japanese parents successfully related the students with the favourite animted characters like Doreamon, Ninja Hattori and others to maintain their interest during the session.
Ms. Mutsuko, mother of a Grade 5 student for last four years said, “The whole experience was very exciting for us, as a housewife I was able to do something meaningful for the day where I was able to share my cultural aspects with these students who are friends to my kids.”
Ms. Mutsuko is also a visiting Japanese language teacher at Tsubomi Japanese language Institute in New Delhi where she teaches Japanese language to the youths who are seriously thinking of making their career with Japanese companies.

According to LIS the Home Language Learning initiative is an interactive and integral part of the mainstream education that is offered to every member of diverse global community at Lancers International School.
