Progressive Federation of Trade and Industry (PFTI) inks pact with Tokyo-based JIIPA to promote India-Japan trade
The MoU between PFTI and JIIPA (Japan India Industry Promotion Association) aims to intertwine the networks and services of each other to facilitate seamless trade operations, knowledge exchange, and business growth between Japan and India.
NEW DELHI: In a landmark development, India’s fast-evolving trade and industry promotion body Progressive Federation of Trade and Industry (PFTI) has joined hands with Tokyo-based Japan-India Industry Promotion Association (JIIPA) to foster a comprehensive collaboration, and to accelerate growth, integrate industries, and amplify the trade and investment dynamics between India and Japan.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with this effect was signed between PFTI and JIIPA on Saturday in Gurugram near New Delhi. Deepak Maini, Chairman, of PFTI, and Prashant Godghate, Chairman, of JIIPA signed the MoU for their respective organizations. Present on the occasion included Dr. Anshul Dhingra, Director, PFTI; Adv. R L Sharma, Director, PFTI; P K Gupta, President, PFTI Gurugram; Rakesh Batra, General Secretary, PFTI Gurugram; and Core Committee Members – D P Gaur, Aman Gupta, Sanjay Kalra, and Vinod Pahilajani.
Also present on the occasion were PFTI members Ramandeep Singh, Sandeep Jain, Vinay Gupta, Vinod Aggarwal, Dinesh Saini, Vikram Vohra, Sanjil Makhija, and Sanjjay Jain.
The JIIPA delegation was represented by Prashant Godghate, Chairman, JIIPA; Mayumi Koyama, Director, JIIPA & Japan India Trading Co. Ltd.; Vikram Meena, Director, JIIPA; RYO IZUMI, Director, Fashion Cloth Furushima; Cilacus Markus, President, Asahi Travel, Japan, and Chairman, Konnichiwa Japan Club, and Shankar Noguchi, President, Spice Lab Tokyo.
Affiliated with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, JIIPA works in close cooperation with the embassies, government institutions, Industry Associations, Chamber of Commerce, Private Organizations, and Non-Profit Organizations for expanding business opportunities between India and Japan.
According to Deepak Maini, Chairman, PFTI the MoU aimed at intertwining the networks and services of PFTI and JIIPA to facilitate seamless trade operations, knowledge exchange, and business growth between Japan and India.
“The scope of PFTI-JIIPA collaboration entails Specialized Business Services and Market Research, Trade Fairs, Exhibitions, and Exhibition Support, Strategic B2B Matchmaking and Consulting, Technology Transfers, Joint Ventures, and M&A, Educational Seminars and Information Exchange, Logistics, Factory Setup, and Supply Chain Consulting, and Advertising Support, Licensing, and Franchising in Japan,” Deepak Maini added.
The PFTI-JIIPA pact is the second in the series ever since its inception in July this year as in a significant step towards bolstering the trade and industry sectors, the PFTI inked an MoU the Sidcul Manufacturing Association Uttrakhand (SMAU) also in Uttarakhand in the presence of the Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd).
While welcoming the visiting delegation from Japan to the MoU signing ceremony titled “Unleash Business Opportunities in Japan”, Dr. Dhingra, Director, PFTI said that both sides met to explore and amplify the unparalleled synergies between India and Japan, two formidable giants in the world of trade and industry.
Dr. Dhingra said, “The bond between our nations isn’t just about commerce. It’s a rich tapestry woven with threads of mutual respect, cultural exchanges, and shared visions. Japan’s precision and technological advancements coupled with India’s vast markets and entrepreneurial spirit have forged partnerships that shine as beacons of mutual growth and cooperation.”
The PFTI members interacted with the JIIPA delegation and sought information on ways means, and opportunities to do business with Japanese companies. Prashant Godghate, Chairman, JIIPA; Mayumi Koyama; RYO IZUMI, and Shankar Noguchi took questions from PFTI members.
Prashant Godghate, Chairman, JIIPA said that JIIPA leveraged its best-in-class network, key ecosystem partners, and extensive information resources to promote industrial exchanges, strategic partnerships, and corporate development and functions as the voice of the Indo-Japan business community at an association and institutional level, internationally and within both countries.
“Since its inception in 2009, JIIPA has become the silk route for promoting industries, technologies, services, companies, and market opportunities between the countries. As a highly regarded and respected institution in India and Japan, with a qualified team and a number of key contacts and connections, the JIIPA has played a major role in advancing corporate as well as cultural understanding between India and Japan, for over 14 years,” he added.
JIIPA has offices in Tokyo, Japan, and Mumbai, New Delhi, India for networking with regional business organizations, trade and industry, media, and government agencies.
