Role of Japanese Companies in Inclusive Growth of India: A Japan Perspective on CSR

NEW DELHI: In a first of its kind initiatives to bring forth the exemplary work being done by various Japanese corporate entities and industry associations directly contributing to the inclusive growth of India, the Asian Community News (ACN) Network has announced to organise a webinar “Role of Japanese Companies in Inclusive Growth of India (Saving Lives and Livelihood)” on September 4, the Friday.
The one-and-a-half-hour event would witness case studies, deliberations, and presentations on various social development projects being carried out by Japanese companies under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) domain in India to ensure that the general populace, especially the youths lead safe and professionally secure lives.

The key speakers would include Kenji Sugino, Secretary-General, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII); Tomio Isogai, Freelance Advisor, Indo-Japanese Relations and former Managing Director, SHARP India, Nobuhiro Takahashi, Advisor, Suggestions Committee, JCCII, Munish Chawla, Member, CII National Committee on Startups & Entrepreneurship, and Co-Founder, Jeevitam, a Tech-Enabled Livelihood Platform. Jeevitam is the co-host of the webinar along with the Asian Community News (ACN) Network.

The event would take off at 3.30 pm (IST) on September 4, Friday.
A lot is discussed and highlighted about the bilateral trade and industry developments and bilateral economic and strategic ties between India and Japan, but what lacks the much-required attention and deserves appreciation is the amount of social work being done in India to bring social change or impact by various Japanese organisations in the field of education, child development, women empowerment, environment conservation, government regulations, and policies, etc.
The webinar would start with the Key Note address by Kenji Sugino, Secretary-General, JCCII, followed by a detailed presentation titled “Corporate Social Responsibility: An In-depth Japanese Perspective” by Nobuhiro Takahashi, Advisor, Suggestions Committee, JCCII.
Closely will follow the in-depth presentation titled “India-Japan, the Strongest Partners by Tomio Isogai, Freelance Advisor, Indo-Japanese Relations, and former MD, SHARP India. He is also an Adjunct Faculty at MIT-ADT University, Pune.
Munish Chawla, Member, CII National Committee on Startups & Entrepreneurship would speak on the subject “Saving Lives and Livelihood: Social Development Perspective”.
