GURUGERAM. As the new world order sets in following the fast-evolving global geo-political scenario, especially in the post-pandemic era, the world has started to look at India with great hopes. India is all set to play a vital role in setting up the new normal in the world, and in other spheres including the global supply chain. Dr. Badri Narayan Gopalkrishnan, Head, Trade, Commerce, & Strategic Economic Dialogue, NITI Aayog said this while addressing a gathering at Ashok Singhal Ved Vigyan & Praudyogiki Vishwavidalaya on Saturday evening. Others present on the occasion were Vijay Kumar, Socialpreneur, RSS, Haryana, and Dr. Rajesh Goel, Secretary, State Technical Education, Haryana.
While issuing a word of concern Dr. Gopalkrishnan said that India met a similar opportunity about 10 years back also when the entire world looked towards India as an option to China as the former wanted to do away with the dependency on China.
“But at that time we failed to capture the moment. However, the same opportunity is knowing our doors again as the entire world now has high hopes from India as an option to China.
In the fast-evolving global geo-political scenario, India is all set to play a vital role in setting up the new normal in the world, and in other spheres including the global supply chain. We should not miss out on this great opportunity,” he said while addressing a gathering of entrepreneurs, social influencers and others.
The occasion was marked to launch ‘Vikasit Bharat’ – a platform of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, corporate executives and social entrepreneurs & influencers to handhold the budding entrepreneurs and enterprising youths of India. Its an effort by Vikasit Bharat Foundation floated by Ratnesh Kumar, a senior corporate honcho and his team.
Dr. Gopalkrishnan said that India was on the highest and sustainable growth trajectory and the world is taking a keen note on this developement. “We want development but inclusive one. We want to take development but with sustainability, equity, and need to take care of the factors such as preserving the environment.
As regards, the possibility of foreign investors wanting to set up their shops in India, the senior NITI Ayog strategist said that India needed to take proactive approach, and act more swiftly to attract investment (FDI) from abroad.
While addressing the audience on the subject “Emerging Bharat: Opportunities & Challenges for Youth), Dr. Rajesh Goel, Secretary, State Technical Education, Haryana said that India now, after overtaking the UK is the 5th Largest Economy globally and there is a debate on the global supply chains of the world and that “we (India) should use all our forces” to tap new opportunities.
“This time has produced unprecedented opportunities in front of our youth to not only build their successful career but also to build the nation. Like every opportunity, this too has its own limitation and challenges. It is our privilege to have our esteemed guests to share their perspectives on the same,” added Dr. Goel.
In his keynote address, Vijay Kumar, Socialpreneur and Pracharak, RSS, Haryana said that India was a Vishwaguru once upon a time as the history suggests.
“And the history is all set to repeat itself, and India is going to assume its role as a world leader again. The time is ripe when the youth of India must pose faith in the capabilities and strengths of Indian manpower which is all set to rule the roost,” added Vijay Kumar.
