Seong Heum Park unanimously re-elected as 4th Chairman of KOSMA
The Korean Small and Medium Enterprise Association (KOSMA) general meeting on Dec 15 witnessed inclusion of new member companies, a strategic reorganization, and the re-election of Seong Heum Park as the fourth chairman.
NEW DELHI: In a significant stride towards fostering collaboration and addressing pressing concerns within the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector, the Korean Small and Medium Enterprise Association (KOSMA) organized a pivotal general meeting at the Jaypee Vasant Continental Hotel in New Delhi on December 15th 2023. Attended by 40 active members of the association, the meeting proved to be a crucial platform for discussions on various issues affecting SMEs in India.
The Jaypee Vasant Continental Hotel set the stage for constructive dialogue as members delved into multifaceted topics that hold paramount importance for the growth and sustainability of SMEs in the region. Among the key issues discussed were the introduction of new member companies, an alteration in the organizational structure featuring the introduction of new division leaders, and the anticipated election of the fourth president of KOSMA.
New Member Companies Welcomed: One of the highlights of the general meeting was the formal introduction of new member companies into KOSMA. The expansion of the association’s membership base not only underscores the growing relevance of KOSMA in the SME landscape but also signifies a commitment to inclusivity and diversity within the sector. The new additions are expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the table, fostering a dynamic environment for collaboration and shared growth.
Structural Evolution: New Division Leaders Embrace Leadership Roles: Acknowledging the need for a flexible and adaptive organizational structure, KOSMA announced changes in leadership roles, ushering in a new era for the association. The introduction of new division leaders is poised to inject renewed vigor into KOSMA’s initiatives and activities. This strategic move aims to enhance the association’s effectiveness in addressing the evolving challenges faced by SMEs in India. The new division leaders will play a pivotal role in steering KOSMA towards achieving its objectives and fostering stronger ties within the SME community.
Unanimous Vote: Seong Heum Park’s Re-election: In an extraordinary display of unity, members expressed their overwhelming support for the re-election of Seong Heum Park. With a unanimous vote, Seong Heum Park who is also the Focustek Manufacturing Service Private Limited is set to continue his leadership role as the fourth chairman of KOSMA.

The journey we embark upon is not just mine; it is a collective effort, a shared commitment to elevating the standing of small and medium enterprises in India. As we move forward, let us be guided by the spirit of collaboration and innovation” said Mr. Park after his re-election as KOSMA chairman.
Last year in 2022, Seong-Heum Park succeeded Y K Lee to become the chairman of KOSMA. Mr. Lee, the Former India Director of Hyundai Motor India was the first chairman of KOSMA.
Seong-Heum Park (61) founded Focustek Manufacturing Service in 2007 in Gurugram. A leading service provider in Electronic PCB Assembly, Focustek is engaged in SMT Production & MI Production technology products at its Manesar-based ultra-modern plant. It is also into automotive electronics parts assembly manufacturing and DC Motor parts assembly manufacturing as well as electrical vehicles (EV) motor control assembly.
A pass-out of Graduate School of Ajou University, Mr. Park worked for Samsung Electronics for nine years during 1979-1988. He also worked as Matsushita Electric Industrial Agent in Korea for 11 years during 1988-1999. In, 2001, Mr. Park set up Engineering Services in Korea, and ventured into India in 2007 to set up FMS.
As regards Mr. Park’s re-election a KOSAM statement said that this result reflected not only the chairman’s dedication and effectiveness but also the cohesion and shared vision among KOSMA members. Seong Heum Park’s re-election sets a strong foundation for continued success and collaboration within the association.
