Seoul Semiconductor, Group VP Arshi Krishnachar becomes youngest Chairman, ISLE, Karnataka Chapter

NEW DELHI: Arshi Krishnachar (46), Group Vice-President, Seoul Semiconductor – a Korean multinational company, has taken over the reins of the Karnataka Chapter of the prestigious Indian Society of Lighting Engineers (ISLE) as its new Chairman.
With this, the Bangalore-based Mr. Arshi has become the youngest ever Chairman of the ISLE, Karnataka. He succeeded the septuagenarian Mr. MS Narasimha Swamy, the pioneer, and founder of ISLE Karnataka Chapter for more than two decades, to acquire this coveted post.
In his welcome remarks for Mr. Arshi, the veteran Mr. Swamy who consistently put relentless efforts in building the society for a noble cause, said, “ISLE is in very safe hands.”
Widely known for revolutionizing the modern technology of UV in an Air purifier, water, and surface sterilization with customization, Mr. Arshi currently leads the Indian operations of Seoul Semiconductor group. Previously, he was with Philips India limited (Speciality Lighting Division) as National Sales Manager.
Seoul Semiconductor – a leading global innovator of LED products and technology, proudly owns over 14000 patents worldwide. This Korean multinational conglomerate semiconductor-based company made an Indian foray in 2017 and has revolutionized the health and wellness space with its cutting-edge technology.
The new young team of ISLE Karnataka also includes K. Kalaiselvan – a known figure in the lighting industry as General Secretary, and Dr. H. A. – an educationist and a gold medalist, and he owns rich experience in setting up Research & Development center for lighting excellence.
ISLE is a professional body in the field of Lighting Technology with a broad-based membership of Scientists, Engineers, Architects, Academicians, Researchers, Designers, and others with a core focus on lighting issues.
ISLE is also a member of Lux Pacifica, a lighting body that represents 60% of the world’s population. It is made up of the national lighting societies of Australia and New Zealand (IEANZ), China (CIES), India (ISLE), Japan (IEIJ), Russia (VNISI), South Africa (IESSA), and Thailand (TIES).
ISLE is closely associated with the Bureau of Indian Standards, the Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Power, Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources, and Bureau of Energy Efficiency.

He has a sweet family with his wife Mrs. Vasudha Krishna – a national award-winning Bharatnatyam dancer and choreographer. He is blessed with a son master Arshi Anirudh who is now a Master in Black belt Karate and Tabala artist as well.

About the out-going chairman Mr. Swamy
Born in Mysore in 1943, M. S. Narasimha Swamy is a 77-year young and known as SWAMY M. S. N. to many.
He has handed over a strong foundation having conducted National and International Lighting Seminars/workshops along with Exhibitions for spreading knowledge on the latest trends in Lighting with his more than 5 decades of experience
He is an Electrical Engineer and by profession a Consultant for Energy Management, Energy Services, Environment, and Lighting.
In the lighting profession, he has specialized in Monumental Lighting. He was involved in various designs of lighting including the Mysore Palace Fortification Lighting. ISLE conferred on him a “LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD” in 2016 in recognition of his work in promoting knowledge of Lighting
Mr. Swamy was the 1st person from India who had the privilege to represent India on an invitation to address China’s Lighting Industries on LED as a future Lighting source. He also took 21 Lighting Engineers to Europe on an exchange programme for the 1st time in the country.
In 2010, ‘The Karnataka Academy for Studies and Research on Astrology’ Bangalore, Honored him for his contribution to empowering people by propagation and spreading awareness on astrology.
Mr. Swamy was President of Seshadripuram Rate Payer’s Association, Founder of SRPA Help Line, and is currently a Member of the Association of Lay Counselors of India, is the Managing Trustee and Founder member of KASARA for Astrology Studies, a Consultant for Vastu and Astrology.
He has served in the past as the Vice President of Jaycees, Vizag, Vice-President-Elect of Rotary Club – Metropolitan – Secundrabad, and Director of Bangalore City Cooperative Housing Society.
He is happily married to Annapurna and has two sons, Subash. N. Vasist (a Software
Engineer) married to Nandini, also a Software Engineer & Sumukh. N. Vasist B.Sc. (CS) & MBA graduate married to Meghana MCA a Web designer. He has grandchildren Siddharth S Vasist & Saanvi S Vasist. All are well settled in Japan & New Zealand.
