Social Excellence Award 2020: Social activists, philanthropic organisations felicitated
NGOs like Soul Miracles, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Haryali, Sewa Bharti were conferred upon the awards.
GURUGRAM: More than 100 social activists and representatives of over two dozen NGOs were conferred upon the Social Excellence Award 2020 for their extraordinary contribution to the society and destitute by the Gurugram MLA Sudhir Singla on January 12.
The event was organized jointly by Nav Jan Chetna Manch, Saarthi Foundation and Gurukulam at the Hotel Ramada that witnessed the presence of ‘who is who’ of the millennium city Gurugram.
The recipients of the awards hailed from diverse fields of service to the downtrodden and marginalized strata of the society that included destitute children, underprivileged and abused women, elderlies, tribal living in deep forests in other states as well as those saving ecological balance and environment.
Some of the key recipients of the award included Manmeet Kumar, the Founder, and CEO of Soul Miracles; Mahender Kumar Naresh, Vice President; Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Vivek Kamboj, Founder, Haryali; Sunil Kumar Chauhan; Chief Warden Civil Defence, Gurugram and many others.
Those present on the occasion were Dr. Harish and Suman Yadav, International Dental and Cosmetic Centre, Giriraj Dhingra, Dhingra Motors, Shiv Kumar Singla, Devalaya, social activist Vashishth Goyal. India News channel was the media partner of the event.
The spiritual healer Manmeet Kumar is a firm believer that Science and Spirituality are sides of the same coin and that each one of us has deep within ourselves- the Power to Heal. She helps people be the best they can be and promotes this through workshops, corporate trainings, keynote speaking, and one-on-one sessions. She has been awarded several times for her work with Cancer patients.
Mahender Naresh, Vice President; Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (VKA) said that the Haryana unit of VKA has been working very hard for the upliftment and welfare of crores of tribal vanvasis in Odisha and north-eastern states.
“As Haryana does not have jungles, the VKA is raising awareness and generating funds to undertake welfare projects in Odisha and northeastern states for the dwellers of forests. In Haryana too, VKA is running two hostels for the tribal youths of northeastern states, one in Bhiwani and another in Faridabad where we providing free education and living to them,” Naresh said.
In his address, the Gurugram MLA Sudhir Singla said that the Haryana Government would always support NGOs and social activities who had gathered in huge numbers here for the selfless social cause.
