SPIC MACAY- The movement
SPIC MACAY is a non-political, nationwide, voluntary youth movement that organizes programs of classical music, dance, folk arts, crafts, yoga, classic cinema screenings, heritage walks, etc. with an intention to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of Indian heritage and inspiring the young mind to imbibe the values embedded in it.
SPIC MACAY- The recent impact
With COVID-19 and the restrictions worldwide, the mental state of individuals has been adversely affected. The need for value-based, creative, and deeply touching elements of arts, yoga, meditation, etc. has been felt much more strongly. Our unique and interactive webcasts were witnessed by lakhs of students, teachers, and parents. Many artists also found help for their struggles through these online series.
During the lockdown period, SM organized four major online events namely, Anubhav-2020, Parampara-2020, Harmony, Rasraj Smaran. The events were inaugurated and addressed by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu Ji.
