Stay Strong China, We Are With You: Indian Youths Appreciate China’s Effort in Fighting Coronavirus
NEW DELHI: A day after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter to the Chinese President Xi Jinping, offering India’s help to deal with coronavirus outbreak, Indian youths from across the country congregated in the capital city on Monday to hold a prayer meeting to extend support to China in their fight against Coronavirus.
The message of support from the United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth to the Chinese Youth was read out and Indian youth expressed their united support with raising placards up in the sky with “Stay Strong China, We are With you” mentioned on it.
Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL) and Indian Institute of Photography (IIP) jointly organized this special prayer meeting with hundreds of Indian youths to extend support to China in New Delhi on February 10.
These youths expressed gratitude to doctors and nurses who are fighting with utmost dedication on the front line in China.
Dr. Markandey Rai, Senior Advisor of the United Nations Habitat (UN-Habitat), Himadrish Suwan, Chairman of the Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL) and Advisor, Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU) and Rajesh Goyal, Chairman of the Indian Institute of Photography (IIP) presided over the special prayer meeting.
CYL Chairman, Himadrish Suwan (苏万焕 – Su Wanhuan) made committed presiding remarks highlighting the importance of coordinated effort to combat the emergent health situation in China.
“As an old friend of China and one who has explored it, I could firmly say that the Chinese government has shown its solid commitment and confidence to win the battle against the outbreak and these effective measures are not only protecting its people but also protecting the people in the whole world,” said Suwan.
Suwan urged the Chinese Youth to “build a great wall of integrated cooperation to win together”.
He said, “As China soars high in these endeavors, your billion Indian Young friends will not only just look on and cheer you with pride and happiness. But also they will partner with you, share with you and learn from you. We stand firm together and extend our united support with our brothers and sisters in China.”
Dr.Markandey Rai, Senior Advisor of the United Nations Habitat (UN-Habitat) expressed his unshakeable confidence in China’s effort to combat the virus outbreak.
He said it’s admirable how Chinese leaders have efficiently dealt with the outbreak, and the country’s people have shown great courage.
Dr.Rai expressed his condolences to the families that lost their loved ones to the virus and salute to the medical workers and people working on the front line. He further stated, “In these temporary tough times, we stand in solidarity with the friendly people of China”.
Rajesh Goyal, Chairman of the Indian Institute of Photography- highly commended China’s extraordinary efforts to protect humanity at large. He also thanked China for protecting Indian nationals inside its borders and praised the country’s timely response in containing the contagion & the transparency of the process.
