Satoshi Suzuki, New Japan Ambassador to India assumes his charge in New Delhi
Arrived on Nov 1, Suzuki has replaced Kenji Hiramatsu who was shifted to Spain after about 4 years of stint in India.
The 60-year old Satoshi Suzuki, was the head of the Foreign Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan and is known to be an authority on matters related to security, intelligence, and foreign policy.
Following is the first-ever message by Satoshi Suzuki to the Indian community:
I arrived in India on November 1 to take up my assignment as the new Ambassador of Japan to India. This is my first time to be posted in this region, and it is an honor to represent my country in India, especially at a time when both countries are aiming to elevate strong bilateral relations to a higher level. India is an important and special strategic partner of Japan, and I am determined to make every effort to enhance the increasingly firm and friendly ties between our two countries.
Japan and India share the vision of a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”, and are working together to realize this vision and to pursue the peace and prosperity of the region. In addition to security and defence cooperation, including the holding of the upcoming first-ever Foreign and Defence Ministerial Dialogue (2+2), Japan and India are enhancing collaboration in other areas such as manufacturing, infrastructure, food processing, healthcare, IT and Startups. It is my strong wish to devote myself to further bolstering the already firm Japan-India partnership.
Moreover, I believe that cultural and people-to-people exchanges constitute the basis of bilateral relations. Along with the traditional Japanese culture such as Ikebana and origami, new Japanese cultures are attracting people’s attention, including the animation film “Weathering With You” which was recently released in India.
It is my hope that more people in India will embrace the opportunity to enjoy new and traditional Japanese arts and cultures. I would also like to work with friends of India and Japan to introduce Japanese language education and to promote tourism for further exchanges of people.
As Japan-India bilateral relations are advancing on to the next stage, I wish to express my unwavering commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership and the friendship between the two countries.
मैं आप लोगों के साथ काम करने की आशा करता हूँ।
Satoshi Suzuki
