Taiwan Expo 2024 set to witness participation of High-Profile Delegations and Forge Stronger International Ties

NEW DELHI: The Taiwan Expo 2024, opening in New Delhi on Monday, promises to be a landmark event for international trade and collaboration, featuring an impressive lineup of heavyweight officials from Taiwan. This year’s expo, which emphasizes smart themes and innovations, is set to enhance Taiwan’s business ties with India and Japan. Over 120 companies from Taiwan are participating in it.

After a hiatus of 5 years, this prestigious expo is returning to New Delhi on July 8 to witness eminent speakers at the opening ceremony. They include James C. F. Huang, Chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Ms. Cynthia Kiang, Director General, International Trade Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), and H. E. Ger, Bau Shuan, Representative, Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in India

James C. F. Huang has been at the helm of TAITRA since 2017. Under his dynamic leadership, TAITRA has undergone significant reforms, including digital transformation and fostering people-to-people interactions. A former diplomat and entrepreneur, Huang’s extensive experience in both public and private sectors has been instrumental in promoting Taiwan’s economic development and international relations. His strategic vision has strengthened Taiwan’s global trade networks through active participation in major international events.

Ms. Cynthia Kiang, with a profound background in international trade, currently serves as the Director General of the International Trade Administration at the MOEA. Her illustrious career includes senior roles within the MOEA, where she has been pivotal in shaping Taiwan’s foreign trade policies. Kiang’s expertise is bolstered by her academic credentials, holding an LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania and an LL.B. from National Chengchi University.

E. Ger, Bau Shuan, the Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, has been a key figure in strengthening the bilateral relations between Taiwan and India. His role involves promoting cultural and economic exchanges, facilitating trade agreements, and enhancing diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Enhancing Trade and Collaboration

The Taiwan Expo 2024 is a significant platform for showcasing Taiwan’s innovative technologies and products to the Indian market. With a participation of over 120 companies from Taiwan showcasing more than 1000 products from Taiwan is being organised by the TIATRA, Taipei Computer Association (TCA) and the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF), and New Taipei City Government

The event will feature a variety of exhibitions and business interactions aimed at fostering closer economic ties. Attendees can expect to see groundbreaking innovations in smart manufacturing, green technology, and healthcare, reflecting Taiwan’s cutting-edge capabilities.
