Taiwan, Japan explore collaboration in EV, electronics industry

Taiwanese EV suppliers and Japanese auto manufacturers would attempt to know each other, and jointly study the evolving trends in the Indian market.

NEW DELHI: In an interesting development, Taiwan and Japan have joined hands to work jointly in the field of Electric Vehicles (EV) and Electronics to explore collaboration opportunities. As a first step towards this direction, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) with the support of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII) are organizing a joint industry cooperation webinar on May 18.

The objective of the webinar is to provide a platform for Japanese and Taiwanese companies to communicate with the EV and electronics industry, to connect with Taiwanese EV suppliers and Japanese auto manufacturers to know each other, and to kick-off meetings for both sides to know more about the next trends in the Indian market.

The webinar would open with the welcome remarks of the representatives of Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in India, and the Embassy of Japan in New Delhi. Niranjan S Nayak, MD, Delta Electronics India would address the session on “Power Conversion Products and Solution to Support the EV Industry Growth in India”

Jun Seki, Chief Strategy Office for EV, Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision) will speak on the topic “Foxconn Electrification”. Leo Lin, Overseas Representative, Tron-e (Tron Energy Technology Corp) will address a session titled “Supporting Green Transportation in India- Tron-e High- Efficiency and Eco- Friendly EV BUS Solution”

TAITRA is Taiwan’s foremost nonprofit trade promoting organization. Sponsored by the government and industry organizations, TAITRA assists enterprises to expand their global reach. Headquartered in Taipei, TAITRA has a team of 1,300 specialists and operates 5 local offices as well as 62 branches worldwide. Together with Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) and Taiwan Trade Center (TTC), TAITRA has formed a global network dedicated to promoting world trade.

JETRO, or the Japan External Trade Organization, is a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. Originally established in 1958 to promote Japanese exports abroad, JETRO’s core focus in the 21st century has shifted toward promoting foreign direct investment into Japan and helping small to medium size Japanese firms maximize their global export potential.

Since 2006, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII) has worked as a pivotal organization working towards the welfare of Japanese companies in India. Having started with around 100 member companies in 2006, today the organization has grown to a membership more than 490 companies mostly in and around Delhi NCR.

Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII) is a society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, established on 17th July 2006. JCCII’s membership is open to, in principle, Japanese companies and Japanese government institutions in India. As of companies/institutions are the members of JCCII. The Members are mainly located in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
