Taiwan’s International Education 2.0 for schools launched
NEW DELHI: The Education Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre (TECC) India, conducted a webinar recently for the 11th-grade students from Taiwan’s Dachia High School and Chinghusi High School.
The webinar was conducted to share the firsthand experience of facts and living in India, with the teachers and students of Taiwan for their better understanding of the country and its culture. This is one of programmes in Taiwan’s project of “International Education 2.0 for Primary and Secondary School”.
The Director of Education Division, TECC, Peters Chen said, “According to this project by the Ministry of Education Taiwan, half of Taiwan’s K-12 schools have to work with their sister schools all over the world before 2030.”
According to Taiwan’s “International Education 2.0 for Primary and Secondary School”, there will be various exchange programmes and activities, including webinars considering the Covid-19 protocols and safety. Schools can log on to the governmental web page to upload their information and select the partner school in Taiwan for further communication and exchange programmes.

During the webinar a presentation was given by the Director of Education Division, TECC, Peters Chen in which he shared about the history and culture of India, their love for sports and entertainment, the different styles of architecture, dance forms, food, festivals, attires, etc. that vary across the length and breadth of the giant country.
The students were also given a glance upon the achievements of India in recent years and some of the famous personalities from India such as Rabindranath Tagore, Mother Teresa, Amitabh Bachhan, Priyanka Chopra, Shahrukh Khan, Amartya Sen, Deepika Padukone, and so on, who have made the country honored globally through their tremendous contribution towards the growth of their country.
With the help of this webinar, it hopes to let Taiwanese students understand India. With basic understanding and knowledge from the experienced person rather than media, students are interested in having more peer friends from India. Dachia high school and Chinghusi high school started to have co-design content of future exchange programmes with Bluebells School International and Ramjas School R K Puram. Students will discuss mutual topics of the UN SDGs in the following months. This will strengthen the bilateral relationship and international education for the young generation between India and Taiwan.
