K-pop bands Kingdom 킹덤, bigAboo 버가부, ID arriving in India Oct 15-16
The occasion is the commemoration of the completion of 10 years of the existence of the Korean Cultural Centre in India that will host ‘Rang De Korea’ fest, the biggest ever Korean cultural fest in India so far.
NEW DELHI: The wait for their favourite K-pop bands by millions of Indian fans is all set to end as K-Pop boy group ‘Kingdom’ (킹덤) and girl group ‘bugAboo’ (버가부) – the two rookie Korean bands are going to perform in New Delhi next month. A Team Entertainment’s 6-member girl group bugaboo consists of Eunchae, Yoona, Rainie, Cyan, Choyeon, and Zin. It debuted in October last year only with the title track “bugAboo”. KINGDOM that is a Korean boy group under GF Entertainment, consists of Dann, Arthur, Mujin, Louis, Ivan, Hwon and Jahan.
Also add to the thrill of the Korean music lover, ‘ID’ Korean fusion music band that combines the traditional Korean music with the rhythm and modes of the Western music is also going to be rocking at DLF Avenue, Saket in Delhi on October 15-16.

Other attractions of the event is K-Tigers globalizing Taekwondo (Korean Traditional Martial Arts & Sports) through well-made performances and demonstrations
In addition to the above shows, one of the most exciting part is the traditional Korean wedding ceremony event which will take place at the event. For this event, two couples with a special story will be selected through a preliminary event, and their family and friends will be invited to hold the Korean traditional wedding event on the festival dates. The purpose of the event is to symbolically show the bond between Korea and India as life partner with the essence of Korean traditional culture through a Korean traditional wedding ceremony with pungmulpae(street musical band performance), samulnori(percussion band performance), and haegeum(traditional instrument) performances.
And then the fest will also host ‘Hanbok’ fashion show which will be directed by Samuel Chung, the vice president of the Korean Culture Promotion Association who is a veteran and has various experience in the world’s fashion capitals like Paris (just coming from the latest fashion show in Paris) will personally design and direct the fashion show in India along with his own designers and directing team from Korea. It is excited to see how the Korean traditional clothing, Hanbok will be reinterpreted to show India its potential to lead the global fashion trend.
In addition, the festival will be filled with various experience events such as— Korean naming and calligraphy experience centre where you can experience Korean calligraphy while getting your own Korean name on the spot, a Hallyu flea market that will be voluntarily run by local Hallyu fans, a gallery where the exhibits owned by the Korean Cultural Centre will be displayed, a Korea Centre to introduce diverse Korea that will be operated by Korea Tourism Organization, the mascot for the festival event which is a lion, the divine protector animal of Korea and India.
Hwang Il Yong, director of Korean Cultural Centre India, said, “We want to create an experience platform which can show how the seeds of Korean culture that we have sown over the past decade in India are blooming and what fruits it will bear in the future. The festival will be the live proof to show the soft power of Korea in India”
