Gurgaon. Themed around the slogan “Save Tigers”, the Uthaan’s 14th Women Car Rally flagging off on March 30 from Gurgaon this time will venture into the den of tigers Ranthambore in Rajasthan.
Over a hundred amateur women drivers from diverse backgrounds and nationalities will get behind the steering wheels to drive down to Ranthambore National Resort covering nearly 380 km-long stretch.
And one of the attractions of this year’s Women Car Rally would be the 2-member team ‘The Racing Tigress’. These two bold women from Noida are – the charismatic, dynamic and versatile Geeta Karunakaran and determined, passionate and fearless Simran Sharma. Both come from the education profession.
According to Sanjay Kaushik, the president of NGO Uthaan the participants would first assemble at the Country Inn & Suites, Sohna Road just ahead of Dumdama Lake turn in Bhondsi village in Gurgaon.
“After breakfast, the participants would drive down to Dosa in Rajasthan with a couple of halts on the driveway. After reaching the terminal point at Ranthambore National Resort, the participants would get to enjoy cultural bonanza following which the winners would be given away prizes,” Kaushik added.
Having secured its place in Limca Book of Records 2007 as India’s longest inter-state Women Car Rally, it traveled to Agra last year and to Jaipur the previous year. The longest run so far has been to Pushkar in Rajasthan only in the year 2016 when the daredevil women participants had driven over 400 kms to reach their destination.
The sponsors of the rally include Ranthambore National Resort, Country Inn & Suites, Sohna Road, Paras Healthcare and gurgaon moms.

In the past, the rally has witnessed participation of women drivers from various countries including Korea, England, China and others. This time, the rally would have a woman team from Australia.
