New Delhi. In one of its first sporting activities to make the Korean community have enjoyable moments during their stay in India, the Korean Association in India organized Korean Women’s Invitational Golf Tournament 2019, New Delhi at the lush green course of Classic Golf & Country Club on April 5.
More than 70 Korean women participants from New Delhi and NCR towns like Gurgaon and Greater Noida braved the sultry heat of the summer which is catching up fast in India and played in the event.

Traveling to Classic Golf course from Gurgaon and New Delhi was fun for the women golfers, who had come with their friends, family members, and spouses while many were single too.
They reached the venue even before 9.30 in the morning covering about 90 kms from Greater Noida, 60 kms from New Delhi and 25 kms from Gurgaon to beat the heat of the emerging summer season of India. The ambient temperature had started to cross 40-degree Celsius as the watch clocked 11 am.
Jung Ae Yoon with double Peoria handicap and Hyeon Jeong Park with the lowest score emerged as the winners after the event.
Jung Ae Yoon and Hyeon Jeong Park both stay in Gurgaon and have been playing golf for many years.
Jung Ae Yoon runs a grocery shop at Southpoint Mall on Golf Course Road, Gurgaon while Hyeon Jeong Park owns a Korean restaurant by the name of Sweet Rain on Golf Course Road only.
Tae-Seog Oh, the Consul General of Embassy of the Republic of Korea in India was invited as the chief guest for the golf tournament. He wished all the women golfers good luck and was all praise for their sportswomanship. He also gave away prizes to the lucky draw winners.
Euy Don Park, the President of the Korean Association in India told the Asian Community News (ACN) Network that the as a president, he was focussing on how to make Korean expats live an enjoyable and happy life in India during their stay.
This is the role of the Korean Association in India, he said.
“So far we since January we have held 6-7 events and Korean Women’s Invitational Golf Tournament 2019 was just one of the big events. I am making efforts to make Koreans feel more comfortable, lead a more enjoyable life here in India. I want to encourage communication amongst them, it’s more important. The women golfers came from Delhi as well as other NCR towns like Gurgaon and Greater Noida. There are about 5000 Korean expats living in Delhi and NCR town away from their country,” said Euy Don Park.
Euy Don Park who also happens to be the advisor to Governor of Gyeongnam Province, Korea, vice president of KOCHAM in India, member of The National Unification Advisory Council and vice president Indo-Korea Friendship Society was all praise for the women golfers and their sportswomanship who braved summer heat to participate in the event.
