Yogi Priyavrat Animesh Delivers Spiritual Discourse, unveils his book Guru (達人) in Japan
The founder of Ooj Foundation, Yogi Priyavrat Animesh, emphasizes the significance of spiritual growth in Japan, connecting the philosophies of India and Japan.
OSAKA (Japan) – Yogi Priyavrat Animesh, the Founder-President of the India-based Ooj Foundation, a non-profit spiritual trust, held an enlightening spiritual talk at the India Club in Kobe, Osaka, Japan. The event, attended by 150 individuals, was anchored by renowned Indian influencer Lalita Ji, who facilitated a meaningful conversation with the Yogi.
During the packed session, Yogi Priyavrat Animesh introduced his bilingual book, Guru (達人), which delves into the profound essence of the guru-disciple relationship. He elaborated on the concept of a Guru, stating, “A Guru is not self-proclaimed but is defined by the disciple. Just as the birth of a child brings forth the identity of a father, the disciple gives rise to the Guru.”
His words resonated with the audience – Indian and Japanese, as he emphasized the guru’s role in expanding one’s consciousness and guiding spiritual growth.
Initiated into the Dutt Akhada, also known as the Juna Akhada in Ujjain, Yogi Priyavrat Animesh shared his belief that spirituality should serve as the foundation of human life. “Spirituality must be the conscious base for a sturdy life,” he remarked, explaining how it is integral to one’s personal and spiritual evolution. He credited his formal training in Shaivite practices and the blessings of Lord Shiva for shaping his spiritual journey and aligning him with universal energies for spiritual harmony and growth.
The conversation between Lalita Ji and Yogi Ji covered various aspects of spirituality. When asked how one recognizes a true Guru, Yogi Ji explained, “A Guru helps expand your consciousness. When you begin to live in the present moment, more aware, inclusive, and considerate, that’s when you know you are growing. A Guru is someone who constantly reminds you of this expansion.”
Lalita Ji also translated the conversation into Japanese language for the convenience of the Japanese nationals including men and women during the session.
On the relationship between a Guru and a disciple, Yogi Ji spoke of the need for surrender, saying, “Consciousness is subtle and demands humility. Surrendering with love is the key to this journey.”

Yogi Priyavrat Animesh also shed light on the practice of Naad Yoga, which he described as “a form of communion with the cosmic sound.” He explained how the vibrational energy of AUM—the primordial sound of the universe—helps in healing and energy channeling through the chakras. “Naad Yoga, through sound frequencies, influences spiritual and physical well-being,” he added.
When asked why he chose Japan for this spiritual discourse, Yogi Ji highlighted the deep cultural ties between India and Japan. “Both India and Japan hold strong reverence for life in every form, as reflected in Shintoism and Hinduism. Additionally, Japan’s culture of discipline and tradition resonates with the practices of Naad Yoga, making this the ideal place for spiritual exchange.”
Yogi Priyavrat Animesh concluded his talk by addressing the audience with a heartfelt message: “The Orient is known for its cultural richness and spiritual depth. It is my wish that the East continues to lead the world in spiritual evolution, acting as a beacon for future generations.”
The event left attendees with a renewed sense of spiritual purpose and a deeper understanding of the Guru-disciple dynamic, reaffirming the universal connection between Indian and Japanese spiritual philosophies.
