Yogi Priyavrat Animesh to Lead Naad Yoga in Japan: A Spiritual Voyage Bridging India and Japan

NEW DELHI/OSAKA: In an effort to spread the ancient wisdom of Indian spirituality to the global stage, Yogi Priyavrat Animesh, Founder of the OOJ Foundation, will be leading a special Naad Yoga session at the India Cultural Centre in Osaka, Japan, on September 21, 2024. Supported by The Diplomatic Club and the Mohanji Foundation, the event promises to be a cultural and spiritual milestone, featuring a live performance by Tabla Maestro Pranshu Chaturlal and a conversation with Yogi Priyavrat Animesh, who will offer profound insights into the philosophy of Naad Yoga and spiritual growth.

The OOJ Foundation, under the leadership of Yogi Priyavrat Animesh, is dedicated to promoting spiritual awareness, meditation practices, and holistic well-being. Founded with the belief that spirituality must be the conscious foundation of human existence, the foundation conducts workshops, retreats, and community programs aimed at deepening one’s connection with the inner self through meditation, yoga, and spiritual guidance. It is interesting to mention here that it is the first cross-country visit of Yogi Priyavrat Animesh, and it has taken off with India’s ally nation Japan that shares many cultural values and ethos with India.  

Yogi Priyavrat Animesh, who will be in Japan from September 19 to 24, 2024, is not only leading the Naad Yoga event but also introducing his recently launched bilingual book, Guru (達人). This 50-page book, written in both English and Japanese, serves as a guide for spiritual seekers. With chapters titled Who is a Guru?, Historical Context, Importance of Finding a Guru, and Imparting Wisdom, the book highlights the transformative power of a Guru in shaping lives. The book is expected to have a significant impact on the Indian diaspora in Japan as well as Japanese natives, many of whom have begun adopting Indian spiritual practices.

Guru (達人)

The book Guru (達人) was launched on September 8, Sunday in New Delhi during a prestigious gathering attended by several luminaries from various fields. The book is part of series on Guru : Medium for Transforming Lives by Ooj Foundation. The launch was held at the Oberoi, New Delhi on 8 September 2024 in presence of Shyam Jaju former General Secretary BJP. Among those present were Representative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India, and top-ranking Indian officials such as Ram Niwas, IPS (Retd), Sridhar Rao, IPS, Ms. Sonal Mishra IPS, Mrinalini Shrivastava IPS, and Ms. Ritu Arora, IPS. The event also saw the participation of expats from Japan, including Kenji Sugino, Secretary General of the Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industry in India (JCCII).

Rajiv Dua, Director of the Indian Parliament, Dr. Devarabhotla Murthy, President of The Diplomatic Club, Dr. Ramakant Dwivedi, a prominent figure in the diplomatic community, an author and Director of The India Central Asia Foundation, Aadil from Kevala Niru, and Prakash Yadav, Chairman & Managing Director, AJU Ryokan Group of Japanese Hotels were also present at the launch, reflecting the wide-ranging appeal of Yogi Priyavrat Animesh’s teachings and influence.

The book launch also attracted key figures from the cultural and media sectors, such as Sanjeev K. Ahuja, Founding Editor-in-Chief & CEO of Asian Community News (ACN), Mallika Thakkar, Founder of Soultrax Studio, and Vikas Seth, a senior advisor with Shapoorji Pallonji. This esteemed gathering underscored the growing global interest in Indian spirituality and the role of Gurus in guiding personal transformation. The attendees praised the book for its relevance and timeliness, particularly for a generation seeking purpose and inner peace.

As part of the ceremony, a brief book reading session was also kept, where Dr Ramakant Dwivedi, author , subject expert in CIS languages and a polyglot made the readings for the gathering.

The book focuses on importance of Guru and the Alchemy of bonding between a guru and the disciple. The book is written in a simple and lucid form for beginners . The Japanese version would be launched at India Center Kobe, Osaka on 21 September

On the occasion a memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Ooj Foundation and the Diplomatic Club on creating a vedic and scientific astrological study and research centre in Hyderabad. This project would come up over next 5 years and will illustrate vedic science of astrology and star alignment.

Yogi Priyvrat Animesh in his talk also elucidated further on identifying a guru and how a guru is made by existence of a shishya. He emphasised that the guru is an essence and nature has shown through its creation how everything is manifested as an essence.

Yogi Priyavrat Animesh’s personal journey is one of deep spiritual evolution. As a young boy from Haryana, he was full of energy but lacked spiritual direction. His search for meaning led him to ashrams and spiritual teachers, and in 2015, he met his revered Guru, Brahmaleen Dev Narayan Puri Ji, at Solan in Himachal Pradesh. Under his Guru’s tutelage, Mahendra (Yogi Priyavrat’s birth name) embraced the Shaivism and Siddhi traditions. His transformation into Yogi Priyavrat Animesh was marked by a deepening of consciousness and clarity, a journey that inspires many of his followers today.

His spiritual name “Priyavrat,” given by his Guru, signifies his commitment to righteousness, and “Animesh” symbolizes conscious awareness and steady mindfulness. Yogi Priyavrat Animesh now devotes his life to spreading the teachings of his Guru, with the OOJ Foundation serving as a key platform for this mission.
